A Van Conversion is Never Finished.
They say that a van conversion is never finished, and I can only agree. Our van, Kevlar (named as such because she used to be a MET-Police riot van and is actually partially made of kevlar), has been our full time home for the last few years. I love her so much.
However, since we bought our land in Scotland our lifestyle, and needs, have changed. The plan is to now park her on our land and live in her there, full time, while we’re building our house – planning permission pending. What this means for us though is that our current van layout just will not be optimal for the lifestyle we’re aiming for.
We don’t need the big ol’ garage space now that Cam will be leaving his full time job as a site carpenter, and instead we need plenty of living and working space now that we both make an income online.
Because no job is ever small and simple, we’ve also decided to totally change the colour scheme in the van – we’re moving away from the current orange and black and are instead going for natural wood and a dark green. The green paint we found is called Scottish Kilt Green, which literally couldn’t feel like a more perfect colour if it tried.
